Sustainable green building solutions from Gil Haugan Construction Sustainability

Sustainable design and construction practices are widely discussed and increasingly incorporated into projects.  The United States Green Building Council provides a framework for sustainability through LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), green building certification system.  Projects can be designed with LEED design and/or construction principles or selected principles.  Or, projects can include LEED criteria and choose to have the project registered and validated for one of four ratings per LEED v3.3:

    Certified
    Silver
    Gold
    Platinum

Gil Haugan Construction can assist determining what sustainable solutions fit your project.  Early discussion of what sustainable practices to include is important as LEED credits include the following:

    Site Selection
    Water Efficiency
    Energy and Atmosphere
    Materials and Resources
    Indoor Environmental Quality
    Innovation in Design
    Regional Priority
